Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
To sit is one essential part of our life. Products to sit on occur in our life in many situations. At breakfast or during travell, at a rendezvous or as to write a letter and read a book. Even the contest of young designers with the subject “Seats for...”, their aspirations and visions will color new opportunities for future sit downs. Particularly the consequential execution with opposits (Polarity) will be a reflexion of the spirit of todays visual trends.

In total 5.000 Euro will be awarded, splited in 2.500 Euro for the winner, 1.500 Euro for the second and 1.000 Euro for the third place. In addition Trondesign will give for highly talented students one internship for six month in their design studio. The award of the internship contract will not be decided by the jury.

Even the contest of young designers with the subject “Seats for...”, their aspirations and visions will color new opportunities for future sit downs. Particularly the consequential execution with opposits (Polarity) will be a reflexion of the spirit of todays visual trends.

Participation
All participants will have the opportunity to see and download relevant informations regarding the award at www.trondesign.com (1Acrobat.pdf). It is free of choice to make drawings in the size of DIN A2 (420 x 594 mm landscape format) or (miniatur-)models 1:5 or prototyps (1:1), the weight has to be less than 100 kg incl. package and less than 2 qm footprint. In each case submissions must have added digital images (72 dpi at A3 and 300 dpi at A4), for Adobe Photoshop usable saved on CD-ROM. The participants may submit more than one product.

Submission
The official submission will be launched on February 1th 2003 in the internet at www.trondesign.com 

Closing date for entries and deliveries are April 30th 2003 (in box).

Participation fee
No registration fee will be charged.

Admission
Students of design schools and universities. Diplom-, thesis- and projects from students are wellcome, if they finished after January 1th 2002. Professional Designers are not allowed to participate. Immatriculation forms or student identifications must be enclosed with each application.

Registration
All transmittals will be registered. Products and submissions with help of jury members are excluded from the participation. After April 30th 2003 received mail will not be accepted for the participation of the award.

Procedure
The jury will define the procedure: The jury will not pronounce the reasons for their judgements for not nominated submissions. In addition to the awards for prices the jury will as well nominate the participation for the exhibition. The adjudication of the jury is definite. The legal process is excluded. With their registration the participants accept the rules and conditions of the competition.

Intellectual property
Participants as author are responsible by their own to care about adequate industrial property rights.
The exploitation right remain to the participant.
Participants agree, that the Trondesign Creativ Award For Students will publish handed in projects and images and names of the participant regarding this Awards, but also later in it´s public realtion work. The names of the participant will be mentioned in this cases.

Price Money

Liabilitydolcn.com
The participation on the award is at one’s own risk of each participant. Liabilities for all kinds of disadvantages are excluded if not achieved on a deliberate or grossly negligent base from the organisers. The completion of an insurance for transport and exhibition against damage, fire and thievery are suggested.

Exhibition and fair
The participants commit theirself in case of the nomination to provide their works for the exhibition Interzum fair KölnMesse May 23th to 27th 2003. Transport and installation is duty of Trondesign.

Awarding ceremony
The award and opening of the exhibition will take place on May, 23th 2003 at 12:00 a.m. in Cologne hall 10.2 fairground. The chairperson of the jury will present the decition of the jury then. The event will be attractive to journalists. All nominated participants will gain free entrance fee to the Interzum and should attend personally to the opening of the exhibition.

Return delivery
If participants can not pickup their products from the exhibition it is possible to declare the request for return transportation on their own expense. The same applies to not nominated products. If products are not picked up or returned they will be disposed on May 27th 2003 after 20:00 a.m.
