The Bombay Sapphire Foundation has announced the launch of the world's biggest international glass award, the Bombay Sapphire Prize 2008.

For the first time in its six-year history, the winner of the £20.000 Prize will be announced during Milan Design Week 2008 when the extraordinary and inspiring glass works shortlisted for the Prize will be showcased in the Bombay Sapphire Prize exhibition.

Awarded for excellence and innovation in the use of glass, the Bombay Sapphire Prize has celebrated the work of some of the world's most talented artists, designers and architects. And to highlight the work of emerging talent, the Bombay Sapphire Foundation will awarded an additional £5,000 prize to the year's most promising newcomer. 

The Bombay Sapphire Foundation was set up in 2001 with the aim of supporting and rewarding the best in contemporary design. Members of the Foundation who will be judging the entries for the Bombay Sapphire Prize 2008 include the following international designers and glass experts:

The deadline for entries is 31 October 2007.
