It starts in day 11 of November and goes up to 16 of December of 2007 7ª the Biennial International of Architecture of São Paulo, in the Pavilion of the Biennial one. This event, organized for the Institute of Architects of Brazil and for the Biennial Foundation of São Paulo is one of most important landmarks of the World-wide Architecture.

With the subject “Architecture, the Public and the Private one”, 7ª the Biennial International of Architects of São Paulo always considers a present question in the architecture that is the expression of the character of the public and private spaces and mainly the relation between them. Its time, each society found answers for its space organizations of form peculiar and adjusted to its way of life and social structure.

The solutions in the time, of the relationship of the architecture of the buildings with that one of the cities thus demonstrate it, and express that this “interlude” if constitue at very instigante moment of the definition of the spaces, situated in that transistion enter the areas of collective and individual domain: - the loggias renascentistas and the pilotis modern are expressions of this concept of interaction and where it is possible to be or to transit between those domínios.

The definition of these spaces, if public or private, frequently is established in the consideration of the accessibility, if ample or restricted, in the responsibility on its maintenance, if collective or determined by one or one limited group of people. However, in fact, a simplória bipolarity between the public and the private one does not exist, but this concept of domain is relativized in function of a set of space attributes, that with gradual differences establish “infinite” possibilities of proposals for these spaces architectural.

Therefore, in it interests them while architects to consider in this debate of ideas and proposals, not them extreme coletivistas or individualistic polarizations, but exactly those situations that represent the wealth of relations human beings of our real and multicultural world.
