People have an influence on their surroundings. Whether it is a situation you find yourself in, observe or respond to, you always participate. The photography of Edward Thomson (1982) explores the relation between space and what is located in space, and the part played by the photographer in this relation. In NEST 19, Thomson presents images of indoor spaces that examine both the construction of an artificial reality and the construction of photographic representation, teasing the relationship between space, scale, photographer, subject, viewer and image.
