A series of site specific installations will bring six key London riverboat piers (Millbank, Embankment, Bankside, Tower, Canary Wharf and Greenwich QE2) to life, will use sound to explore the past (what used to exist), the present (what can be seen today), and the future (what is either planned or imagined). Interviews, sound recordings and readings from Peter Ackroyd's book Thames Sacred River, will bring the experiences of river dwellers and developers as well as facts about the river, to the eyes and ears of the exhibition visitors.

The sound installations will be found at Millbank, Embankment, Bankside, Tower, Canary Wharf and QE2 piers.

Each visitor will receive a unique experience as the sound recordings alternate. The installations will be linked by the Thames Clippers Riverboat service, where images and video recordings will further expand on this sensory experience on-board.

Special edition Ordnance Survey maps, available at each pier and on the Thames Clippers boats, will provide a visual aid to explain the changes on the river over time and locate award winning architecture alomg the Thames.

The curatorial team comprises: author and LFA President Peter Ackroyd, architect Iain Johnston (Bisset Adams), designer Nick Robertson (Wordsalad), Adam Guy (Multi-platform Development) Amenity Space, David Harcombe, and RIBA London.

Entry to this exhibition is free of charge.
