Dr. Otto von Busch

Otto von Busch is a researcher at the School of Craft and Design at University of Gothenburg-Sweden. He holds a PhD from University of Gothenburg with the title: FASHION-able: Hacktivism and Engaged Fashion Design (2008). He has a background in arts, craft, design and theory and has been affiliated with the Dept. of Industrial Product Design at ITU, Istanbul since 2004. In his research he explores the emergence of a new "hacktivist" designer role, where the designer engages participants to reform design, reclaim authorship and use design as a tool for empowerment.(www.selfpassage.org, www.roomservices.org)
