Kerem Turker of London Architectural Design practice RADA Design will be discussing Istanbul as a mimetic City. Istanbul is one of the official European Capitals of Culture for 2010. It extends both on the European and Asia shores of the Bosporus strait and is the only city in the world that is situated on two continents. For over five millennia's, this unique landscape has been acting as a nerve centre of religious, political and cultural discourse. Today, Istanbul is a continuously expanding, evolving and adapting city where cultural, sociological and urban spheres negotiate a symbiotic existence.
