Earlier this year, Paulo Mendes da Rocha was awarded the 2006 Pritzker Prize, considered the highest honor bestowed on an architect. The Brazilian da Rocha has practiced in his country for six decades, beginning in the 1950s. His body of work includes high - rises, stadiums, cultural institutions, and private residences rendered in simple forms and executed in the simplest of materials (predominantly concrete). In this exclusive public appearance, da Rocha will present his work, including the Forma Store and the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture, both in Sao Paulo, and his current work on a master plan for the Technological City, part of the University of Vigo in Galecia, Spain. Following the lecture, da Rocha will sign copies of his books.
