Morphosis

Etkinlik Başlangıç - Bitiş Tarihi: 08 Mart - 17 Temmuz 2006
Yer: Pompidou Center, Paris - Fransa
Morphosis, whose founder Thom Mayne received the 2005 Pritzker Prize—architecture’s highest honor—is invited to display recent projects at the Centre Pompidou.

Founded in 1972, Morphosis is an interdisciplinary practice involved in rigorous design and research that yields innovative, iconic buildings and urban environments. Today, as the scale and sophistication of the California-based firm’s projects continue to grow, Morphosis consists of a group of more than 40 professionals, who remain committed to the practice of architecture as a collective and interdisciplinary enterprise.

The exhibition and its accompanying publication present 24 recent projects, focusing on the past ten years of the firm’s activities. Conceived as a compressed framework, densely packed with a collection of multi-dimensional media representative of Morphosis’ recent architecture, “Continuities of the Incomplete” is both an exposition of projects and itself a new work. The 250m2 structure—a self-illuminating aluminum frame platform, skinned with sloping glass planes—encloses models, drawings, film footage and images from the firm’s live web cam.
