ALUMINIUM in Essen is the world’s No. 1 event for the global aluminium industry. It is going to take place for the 5th time in Essen from 22 - 24 September 2004 and once again will be the global meeting place for the decision-makers in the aluminium industry.

Centrally located and easy to reach, the Essen Exhibition Centre is right in the middle of Germany's economically most powerful and densely populated region. With its excellent connection to the international airport in Düsseldorf via the Exhibition-Airport Shuttle and direct motorway access, the Centre has transport links which are second to none.

The ALUMINIUM event in Essen is now firmly established and clearly recognised as the world's leading forum for the aluminium industry. Over 550 companies from around the world will be using the trade platform in 2004 to showcase their latest products and services covering the entire spectrum of the aluminium industry supply chain.

For example, the number of exhibitors has doubled since 1997. Over 530 companies presented their products and services at ALUMINIUM 2002.

The number of visitors has also risen by 100% from 1997 to today. Over 12,300 registered industry visitors came to Essen for the last ALUMINIUM event.

The number of countries represented rose by 73%. Exhibitors from 40 countries are forecasted for ALUMINIUM 2004.

In 2002 the amount of floor space exceeded 35,000 square metres for the first time.

Visitors of ALUMINIUM are decision makers come from the aluminium manufacturing and processing industry, automotive and transport industry, plant and machinery, metalworking, building and construction, iron and steel, packaging as well as the electronic industry. They are characterised by two main factors: the large number of international visitors and the high degree of decision-making authority. 90% of the ALUMINIUM event visitors exercise purchasing authority within their company; 73% have the final say. 36% of the ALUMINIUM 2002 visitors came from abroad. ALUMINIUM therefore represents the forum for building international business relationships.

The ALUMINIUM 2004 exhibition will be effectively complemented by a leading technical conference and staged concurrently at Congress Centre West of Messe Essen.
