The cube has been considered from the Antiquity like a geometric figure equipped with special interest. Its formal simplicity and its strictly relation with the complex world of numbers, elevated it to the symbol rank, and since so it has been used by almost all the religions throughout history. In architecture, the cubical nature expressed a paradigmatic function; its condition of archetype, confers it an enormous, communicative power. Many architects have been inspired by the autorreferencial value of this totemic form that is universally recognized. “Cubos” show nine architectonic projects, nine cubes, of Jean Nouvel, Aldo Rossi, Julio Cano Lasso, Gianfranco Spada, Adalberto Libera or Otto Von Spreckelsen, among others, that emphasize by their singularity and its intentionality in the approach to the expressive universe of the cube.
