Tarih: 04 Şubat - 20 Mart 2005 The difficult relationship between tradition and modernity, the importance of religion and the emancipation of women. These are some of the themes held dear to a younger generation of artists who since the fall of the Soviet empire have begun to make their work known in the west. The same themes can be found in the new architecture of the ex-Soviet republics of Central Asia, still split between neo-historical tendencies and globalisation but all heavily influenced by Islam. An idea of how this part of the world is changing is offered by an exhibition organised by the Ifa that shows around a hundred design projects and works of contemporary art.
