The First International Symposium for Visual arts of Yeditepe University will be held by the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2005. The major aim of this symposium is to provide a forum which brings together inspections, observations, views and approaches orbiting around the notion of space as a decisive factor in the perception and production of contemporary art.

Within this context, the Symposium Committee invites session proposals covering new research findings, new analyses of issues or innovative conceptions of areas in Contemporary Art and related disciplines such as Art History, Cultural Studies, Sociology, Political Sciences, Literature, Architecture, Design, and eventually, in Curatorial Practices. Yet, papers are only accepted if they take a sufficiently scholarly, research-based approach and present substantive new content.
