To enhance the international co-operation and the transfer of knowledge about earth construction, Umbra GmbH organises the international conference and fair Modern Earth Building 2005 in Berlin. The aim of the conference is the idea of working together and learning from one another in an international context. Umbra GmbH invites all interested professionals in the field of earthen architecture.

Call for Papers Schedule:
February 21, 2005: Abstracts due. One page, 500 words (maximum), C.V.
March 21, 2005: Notification of acceptance
July 21, 2005: Full paper due. (8-page maximum including graphics)

Following central topics are planed for the conference:
Conservation of earthen architecture
Material values of earthen plasters
Earthen plasters and design
Healthy living with earthen products
New earth building projects
Future developments and Sustainability.
