The annual meeting of CIVVIH / “Historic Towns and Villages”, one of the scientific committees of ICOMOS, will be held in İstanbul between 21 - 24 May 2005. The symposium organized by CIVVIH /
Turkey in this context, and having a starting point as the relations and problems of metropolitan city / historic centre of Istanbul, aims at presenting and discussing Istanbul and other international  examples which are subject to the same disadvantages. Besides this principal topic, the program also includes presentations of subjects referring to various works of CIVVIH members.
