Yarışmalar-Competitions

Girne American University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture is organising a workshop/conference/exibithion and a competetion between students related to body covering all visual art disciplines.“The body and its influence and impact in arts architecture, and design" Happening would include workshops run by lecturers and visitors related to the body, demonstrations and open art sessions where students can participate and learn new techniques, as well as Art Seminars and Art Exhibitions by artists whose subject matter is related to the body.

The Student Competition “The Body”
Competition is open to disciplines in visual art (Painting, sculpture, interior design, architecture, graphic,)

Students may select one the topics mentioned and suggest his/ her work related to their discipline.

Awards
1.st Prize 500$
2.nd Prize 300$
3.rd Prize 200$

Three awards will be chosen in each of mentioned disciplines:

Painting
Paintings about body parts, movements of body or……….
Architecture
Anthropometric Design Projects Human Scale and Proportion, Cellular Structure in Buildings, buildings for death bodies, Dance in Architecture etc.
Interior Architecture / Endustrial Design
Furniture Design using the body as influence or Ergonomic Product design etc.
Graphic Design
For example, Product packaging design using body form as influence or 2D pattern design related to the body- textiles, gift wrap or children’s book – my body etc.

Sculpture
Sculptures of body or body parts or movements in body etc.

Competition is open to graduate and undergraduate University students from departments of architecture, industrial design, fine arts including graphic, interior architecture, interior design, painting, sculpture.

Students may register to the Competition online from www.gau.edu.tr.

Submission of proposals: 9 May 2005
Evaluation of Jury: 10 - 11 May 2005
Announcement of Results: 12 May 2005
Awards Ceremony: 12 May 2005 at 18:30 Girne American University, Vision Complex

Submission Conditions
Proposals will be submitted in one sheet of A1.(59.4* 84.1) Sheets must be in vertical position
There must be an identification code consisted of five letters placed at the bottom left of the sheet.

Idendification Envelope;
The name and surname of the student, a student identification letter from related university and the identification letter mentioned in the proposal sheet must be mentioned in a seperate A4 paper and has to be enveloped. The identification code of the student must also be mentioned on the left bottom of the envelope.

Submission
Submissions must reach Girne American University, on May , 6 between 10.00- 17.00 by postal or individually.

Jury
The submissions will be evaluated by a jury consisted of professionals as well as academicians.
