ideas reserved to Allplan users with the theme "Planning a residence for
the elderly".
Participants
The Contest is open to all Nemetschek customers using Allplan and to students
authorized to use Allplan Educational, provided to the school or university they
attend. Workgroups may also take part in the contest, as long as they’re
declared at the moment of subscription. Only projects made using Allplan FT v16
or newer will be accepted.
Prizes
The following prizes will be awarded:
First Prize: 30.000,00 € (Thirty thousand Euros)
Second Prize: 15.000,00 € (Fifteen thousand Euros)
Third Prize: 7.500,00 € (Seven thousand and five hundred Euros)
The examining Jury reserves the right to award prizes “ex equo”
equivalent to portions of the overall amount. The prizes will be awarded at the
Nemetschek AG headquarters, in Munich (Germany) during a special prize-giving
ceremony.
International Jury
Nemetschek will designate an international jury, which will be chaired by Prof.
Georg Nemetschek.
The methods and criteria used to evaluate the projects are at the exclusive
discretion of Nemetschek and are irrevocable. The decisions of the Juries are
irrevocable.
The Jury shall closely examine each project, without knowing the names of the
participants, and shall create the definitive place-list.
Purpose of the contest
The project theme consists of designing a residence for 60 elderly people
situated in an urban area and with the necessary infrastructures and based on a
site plan provided by Nemetschek in Allplan format.
Contest documentation
Once enrolment formalities have been completed, the participant will receive an
identification code that allows to maintain anonymity during the contest period.
Said code will also be used by the participant to access the
www.nemetschek-academy.com website’s download area and download the
documentation and base project on which to develop the participating project.
Contest documents required
The project designs to be submitted to Nemetschek will include the following:
· Technical report with description of the assumptions, project criteria,
aims and project data in A4 format not exceeding 3 pages.
· “Preliminary” project design in A1 format (841x594) tables, according to
Nemetschek specifications.
· Final project in Allplan format on CD-ROM.
Only the participant’s Identification Code, written on each sheet, shall
identify contest documents. All contest documents will be sent in the same
packet at the expense and risk of the participant, using a sealed folder
identified only and exclusively by the participant’s identification code. Only
an external, removable packaging of the folder (e.g.: envelope) shall bear the
name of the sender, and only for safe shipping purposes.
Paper documents will be in A4 format for the report, and in A4-folded A1
format for the drawings, on frosted paper and if possible printed in colour. The
material shall not be returned. Each participant authorizes Nemetschek to use
the projects in a printed publication. Projects anyhow remain property of the
authors. Nemetschek undertakes not to use these works for lucrative purposes,
but solely for dissemination and/or demonstration of the contest’s theme. The
CD-Rom will contain the project, complete with printed tables, in Allplan
format.
Only the projects that will fulfil these requirements will be admitted. Every
participant can send only one project.
Enrolment
Enrolment in the International Contest of Ideas “Senior Residence” is
carried out exclusively online, via the www.nemetschek-academy.com
website. Each participant will fill in the registration form in all of its
parts, thereby accepting the rules and terms described in these regulations. The
enrolment tax is set at:

Euros VAT included
Clients not under a Software Service Contract when enrolling: 90.00 Euros VAT
included
Students (even if in work groups): 30.00 Euros VAT included
Students may participate individually or in work groups, and shall always be
represented by a professor (Tutor) who will act as single representative.
Once enrolled, the participant shall receive his/her own Identification Code,
representing the only identification method throughout the Contest period. Said
Code will allow the participant to enter the downloading area to download the
base project in Allplan format, which he will use for developing his own
project.
The payment for the enrolment will be by credit card or bank transfer.
Deadlines
The final date for submission of the project designs is 31st January 2004.
Contestants must submit their project designs to the relevant Nemetschek
subsidiary in the respective countries by this date. The date of the postmark is
decisive.
Addendum
"Senior Residence" is an architectural contest for ideas called by
Nemetschek; as a private contest, it is not subject to statutory regulations for
the public award of contracts.
The awarded projects and other projects deemed worthy of recognition and
dissemination will be inserted in a book that will be sent to every participant
and to the structures that could need these projects and then possibly
disseminated by Nemetschek or national representations.
