Qualification and requirements
No prior experience of design or formal or informal qualifications as a
designer are required. Entry is open to, but not limited to, freelance
designers, in-house designers (designers who belong to companies) and
students. Entrants may be of any nationality and age, and may enter as
individuals or as a group. You may submit more than one piece of work.

Participation fee
Participation is Free.

Online Application
To complete the online application simply fill out the categories in the
corresponding fields of the entry sheet. Our automated system will
e-mail entry number to the e-mail address you specify within 24 hours of
application. You will need the entry number for subsequent procedures
(submitting works, contacting us, etc.), so please make a note of it.

Submitting method
To submit your entry you will be required to directly upload your data
in a format shown below.

Submission format
A text which includes (1) your entry number, (2) the title of the work,
and (3) the concept of the work, materials and size etc.
* In no more than 70 words of English, please describe the kind of space
or situation the work should appear in.
An image of the work (1item)
*An image of 180 pixels by 180 pixels ('RGB' colour space mode. Each
image must be less than 50 kb, JPEG format). Your presentation can be
submitted in any format such as rendering, drawing, illustration, models
and sketches.¡ÊThe image will be used as an icon which will lead people
to see your work on a web site and will not form part of your entry to
be judged.¡ËPlease name submitted works as name. jpg.
2 different images of the work arranged in an optional space (2 items)
*Images of 640 pixels by 480 pixels ('RGB' colour space mode. Each Image
must be less than 150 kb, JPEG format). Any means of expression such as
rendering, drawing, or illustration are acceptable. Please name
submitted works as name. jpg.

Judging Procedures
First preliminary judging

Your work will be judged based on your submitting format. IDÉE DESIGN
COMMITTEE will choose 10 works for "IDÉE AWARD". Cooperated companies
will choose works for their own award.

TDB Award Announcement of Result
Winners from the preliminary round of judging are scheduled to be
announced on the web site on the 1st of September. The TDB committee
will contact entrants directly who make it through to the final round of
judging.

Final Winners of 'IDÉE Award' and other prizes will be announced at the
'Tokyo Designers Block Closing Party' on Monday the 11th of October 2004
and are scheduled to be announced on the web site of "TDB DESIGN
COMPETITION 2004" on Mon the 25th of October 2004.

Prizes
IDÉE AWARD 1 item
Prize 1,000,000 yen
Production of awarded work for retail purposes with royalty contract
with IDÉE Co., Ltd.
A round-trip airfare to Tokyo (for a prize-winner living outside Japan)
or transportation expenses in order to arrangement production.
Promoting awarded work at national/international trade shows such as the
Milan Furniture Fair, plus transportation costs for the participant
awardee.

Others
Other corporate companies will be offering awards.
