Open International project
competition of the EU/EEC countries.
The competition is held by NAL in
collaboration with Oslo S Utvikling (OSU) and ENOVA. The competition site is one
of the plots of the BARCODE area – the development project in Bjørvika designed
by MVRDV/a-lab/DARK.
The chairman of the jury is Winy Maas
from MVRDV.
Object
The object of the competition is to accomplish a reference building that unites
high quality architecture and energy efficient solutions. The intention of the
competition is to achieve a project commission for the winning team. The
building must fulfil the role as a showcase for both the architects and other
professions of the building industry. The submissions must comply within a
normal construction budget in order to achieve the wanted ripple effects. Energy
consumption is a main issue in the competition although universal design and use
of energy must be addressed. In order to achieve the expected goal on energy
consumption, the competitors are requested to for interdisciplinary teams.
Eligibility
The competition is open for architects and engineers in the EC/EEC area.
Schedule
Competition start: April 1
Competition seminar: April 19
Deadline for submitting entries: July 7
Judging period: August – October
The winning team will be announced
during the National day of architecture in Oslo, October 14.
Prizes
NOK 1,1 mill.
Competition fee
NOK 500
The competition fee (NOK 500,-) can
