Plan!, build!, feel! and play!, again is the motto of this year’s third annual arch.stars-festival, initiated by the student body of architecture at the BTU Cottbus. Students from all over the world are invited to present their best student projects at this unique architectural competition from April 28th to May 1st. Furthermore, the aim of the event is to provide a platform of creative exchange for architects-to-be.

Particular about this competition: the winners of the four categories are voted by the participants themselves. It is about prize money and material prizes worth about 5000 €. Drafts, projects and designs will be displayed at showrooms in the city centre of Cottbus (festival mile). In this way visitors are included and can choose their own arch.star.

Right of Participation
All students can take part in the competition, if they are enrolled at least until May 1st 2006 in an architectural department at universities, colleges or art schools. This must be proved in case of an award.The registration for participation only becomes valid by submission of the completely fulfilled and signed registration-documents and the transfer of the charges to the account (19 Euros).

Permitted Projects
Assignments developed at university can be turned in just as well as extracurricular projects. Wanted are different points of view, methods and interpretations which refer to architecture in an interdisciplinary way, challenging nowayfay dogmas. Projects created by a group are generally permitted. The majority of group-members need to be enrolled as students of architecture, in a pairs at least one participant. Each student can only hand in one project. Projects are only allowed to take part in the competition, if at least one of the authors personally takes part. Diploma-projects are not allowed to take part in the competition. Projects which already took part in an arch.stars student-competition-festival cannot be brought in a second time. The Organisation team, reserve to ourselves to rule out projects, whose public exhibition we cannot answer for.

Award of Prizes
The choice of the awardwinning projects will be carried out among all participants. The exact procedure of the arch.star election contest will be announced at the beginning of the festival.
