The Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) and the UIA Work Programme on architecture and renewable energy sources (ARES) announce the launch of an international ideas competition that invites architects to develop new construction methods and practices for efficient shells and settlement units that will satisfy the urgent housing needs engendered by different geographic, topographic, ecological, social, or political crises.
Prizes
A total of 70.000 Euro will be shared between the winners selected by the international jury. Three grand prizes of 20.000 Euro, 15.000 Euro and 10.000 Euro each will be awarded, as also five honorable mentions of 5.000 Euro each.
An exhibition of all entries will take place in Athens - Greece, in December 2007, where the awards will be presented. A second exhibition of only prize - winning projects will take place in Turin (ITALY), in July 2008, where awards ceremony will take place.

Type of Competition Eligibility
The Competition is international architectural ideas competition in a single stage, open to all licensed architects worldwide, groups of architects, or teams of multi - disciplinary professionals with a licensed architect as team leader.
A multi-disciplinary team should indicate one representative (team leader) who is in possession of the technical requirements requested to participate in the competition. Such representative is the only person authorized to have further contact with the promoter. The Competition is an anonymous one.
