The Volvo Sports Design Award will take place for the 4th time on January 29th 2008. The award has established itself as one of the most sought-after awards within industry, design and amongst students. An international jury chooses their favourite product in each category.

Already the competition has received more than 320 entries from all over the world. The winners of each category will receive the Volvo SportsDesign Award.

Categories
Volvo SportsDesign Award for the sports industry and professional designers.

The following categories are planned:
- Ski Equipment
- Board Equipment
- Outdoor Equipment
- Apparel
- Wheelers
- Accessories

Special Award:
- Material Technology
- Radical Solution

For this category, there is no special application needed. The jury will award the best overall ecological product out of all registrations. So make sure, to send a full registration with detailed information and an explanatory statement, why your product should win that special award.

Concepts
Volvo SportsDesign Award for students only. The award is open to students currently registered in any kind of design or technical department at universities. It is also open to young professionals, who earned their final degrees not later than Summer 2005.

Participation is free of charge. The winner will receive a cash prize of 5.000 Euro.
