Cheongna is the city of international business, leisure & tourism and sports and it will be transformed into a world-class international business gateway of Northeast Asian region. For this city, KLC (Korea Land Corporation) is holding an international idea competition for City Tower which will be the landmark of Cheongna in Incheon IFEZ. The City Tower should present an idea of creating townscape appropriate for the economy-oriented city of Northeast Asia and symbolizing the image and identity of the future city.

Objectives
Construction of "City Tower" at the main Lake Park of Central District is:
- To transform IFEZ Cheongna into convenient and comfortable environment of inter- national standards to uplift the stature as international city,
- To promote foreign investments to become economic center of North-East Asian region,
- To construct cutting-edge and super tall observatory tower introducing tourism ? leisure and high-tech amusement functions and
- To symbolize the free economic zone as regional and national landmark.

Project Outline and Scope of the Competition

The design scope and the project outline are as follows:
- Site: Central Lake Park, IFEZ Cheongna, Incheon, Korea
- Site Area: Approx. 122.393 m²
- Tower Height: Approx. 450 m
- Function: Observatory Complex Tower

The exact tower height, areas and required programs will be specified in the design guideline.

Competition Type
It is an open international competition for all licensed architects. An individual who doesn't hold architect license should participate jointly with the licensed architect.

Eligibility
The competition is open to all licensed architects (as individual or corporation) worldwide. An individual or corporation who doesn't hold architect license should participate jointly with the licensed architect. Team entrant, however, should have no more than 5 team members including representative architect.

Selected winning entries will receive the following prizes:
- First Prize (1 entry) - Award Certificate and KRW 700 million
- Second Prize (1 entry) - Award Certificate and KRW 200 million
- Third Prize (1 entry) - Award Certificate and KRW 100 million
- Honorable Mention (2 entries) - Award Certificate and KRW 50 million each
