Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation of Florence is calling for the V edition of the international competition “Degree & Profession”, which offers students having completed their studies a first occasion of visibility for their work on an international level hence opportunity to get in touch with professional market.

The competition shall be opened to:
- Graduates from three years teaching diploma courses (three years university degree) 
- Four and five years university degree graduates 
- Graduates taking their master degree (1st or 2nd level) or similar degree

Who obtained their degree after 01 January 2000. 

The diplomas or thesis shall deal with one of the following fields:

- Architecture (Interiors and Urban spaces), Environment, Town and community planning (planning of cities, gardens, lines of communication, landscape)
- Conservation and restoration of cultural properties (Heritage and Historical centres)
- Design (Industrial, of interiors Gifts and fancy goods, Web design, Fashion Design, Costume Design, Set Design) and Visual and figurative arts (Art and handicrafts, setting up, performances)

The projects that shall not be meet these requirements shall be accepted anyway out of the competition.

Awards
From 30th September , until 30th February 2009 all the works participating to the competition shall be published on www.florence-expo.com. At the end of the above-mentioned period, the projects that shall be more visible on Internet, in terms of number of accesses to the web-pages of the project and geographical origin of the same.

The awards shall be the following:

Awards for the three years teaching diploma projects (three years university degree)
- 1 stay in Florence (only overnight stay), for the author of the selected diploma work on Architecture, Environment-Community and City Planning
- 1 stay in Florence (only overnight stay), for the author of the selected diploma work on Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties
- 1 stay (only overnight stay), for the author of the diploma work on Visual Arts and Design

Awards for the four and five years university degree projects’ authors
- A 3 months stage over an architectural practice of Florence for the selected thesis on Architecture, Environment-Community and Town-planning. 
- A 3 months stage over a conservation professional practice in Florence for the selected thesis on Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties
- A 3 months stage over an art and design professional practice for the selected thesis on Visual Arts and Design

Award for the (1st and 2nd level or similar qualifications) master project
-  2.000 Euro*, for the best (1st and 2nd level or similar qualifications) master project in the field of Architecture, Environment - Community and Town-planning
- 2.000 Euro*, for the best (1st and 2nd level or similar qualifications) master project in the field of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties
- 2.000 Euro*, for the best master project (1st and 2nd level or similar degree) in Visual Arts and Design

* Award-Publication

* All the selected works shall be published in magazines specializing in architecture, conservation and design-art.

* “Smart Presentation” Special award

* The Scientific committee shall select one work among all the works that the candidates shall decided to personally present their work in Florence during a special session within the 5th “Best Degree Projects Florence International Exchange Festival” ( 14 - 18 November 2008, agenda to be drafted), on the basis of its scientific, technical and aesthetic content, one that shall receive a special award of 1.000 Euro*.
