The 1st "Spatial Native Language ArchiDesign Award 2008" is the leading culture-oriented architecture award for architects and designers in Taiwan and gives 1.500.000 Taiwan Dollars (appr. 50.000 Dollars) in prize money.

Inaugurated in 2008, it is sponsored by Spatial Native Language Foundation of Arts and Culture.

Intended to bring wider introspection of Taiwan ''s real architecture asethetics to a talented new generation of architects and designers by looking into the connection among traditional culture, modern art and native trend, the Award welcomes the design works with acute aspects from all over the world.

Awards are for either built / manufactured works or paper designs.

Submission Deadline: 01 September 2008

Recommended by Jury Committee

- The chief organizer will first produce recommended candidate list and the entries.
- First jury will formally recommend a number of candidates to participate in the first review, together with the open entries.
- The chief organizer will then invite the formally recommended candidates to enter the competition. The candidates who accept invitation are supposed to submit design works complied with the design criteria.
- A vacant position will be filled in due order according to the number of recommended candidate who decline the invitation

Open Entry
Participant should submit their works in A3-sized proposal (1 entry 10 copies is a must), which includes the following specified in order: application form, the site location (or the criteria if there is no site included), design concept, space scheme, building or the interior plans, elevations, sections, perspectives or a variety of visual simulation and recent photos (no photos needed if it is a paper design)

Care of Nature Orders

- In harmony with landscape and urbanscape, acute site reaction
- Highly aware of environmental tasks
- Humane value for generations

- Identified and new-generation Taiwanese traditional architectural elements
- New architectural materials with harmonious traditional images

Practical: In accord with the living space claim for Taiwanese and the next generation.

For Generations:
Retain the possibility of living in culture.

Review Process
First Review: By The First Jury
- The review panel discusses the submitted works collected by the chief organizer.
- After the judging standards are determined by the review panel, the review panel will vote for 15 entries being selected.
- Students participating in the competition are encouraged. Students whose works being selected at the first stage shall present the valid certificate of school enrolment and will be awarded 10.000 Taiwan Dollars (approximately 333 Dollars) and a selection certificate.

Final Review: By The Final Jury
- 15 entries being selected and the first jury''s comments will be discussed by the final review panel.
- Selected participants introduce their works and answer the questions asked by the final review panel.
- After the judging standards are determined by the final review panel, the final review panel will vote for the outstanding entries awarded.

Gold Prize (1 awarded):
1.500.000 Taiwan Dollarsplus trophy (approximately 50.000 Dollars)
Silver Prize (1 awarded): 150.000 plus trophy (approximately 5.000 Dollars)
Bronze Prize (5 awarded): 100.000 plus trophy (approximately 3.333 Dollars) each.
Special Jury Prize: The number of awarded persons will be resolved by the Jury. Each laureate will be prized NT$50,000 plus trophy (approximately 1.666 Dollars)
