In several years of research and development work, Création Baumann developed a silicon-coated self-adhesive textile that can be attached directly to glass and removed again without leaving any residues: Gecko - a world novelty ensuring privacy and glare protection and an effective room design tool.
Within the scope of this competition, projects involving the exemplary and innovative use of Gecko are to be submitted to Création Baumann for appraisal. On the one hand, we are interested in solutions focusing on the functional aspects of the product; on the other, we are interested in projects based on a particularly creative use of the product.
The total prize money amounts to 22.500 Euros. The best projects in the three categories Functionality, Innovation, and Aesthetics, will be chosen and granted awards. An expert panel of five jurors will assess the projects to be submitted to Création Baumann by 31 March 2009. The festive award ceremony will be held in the early summer of 2009.
Eligibility
The following are entitled to enter the "Gecko: Think Forward" competition: Architects, planners, civil engineers and interior architects with a degree in architecture, interior architecture, civil engineering or urban planning. A maximum of two projects by the same author or office may be submitted. Documentation must be written in German or English. The projects may already be completed when the competition is held, or may be created during the competition.
Entry and Submission
Competition entries must contain a project description on DIN A4 (minimum font size: 10 point) paper as well as a maximum of four pages in DIN A3 format, including plans, details, captions and photographs (hardcopies). All documentation must also be submitted to Création Baumann on CD (photographs in 300 dpi) in English or German by 31 March 2009 at the latest. The date of receipt is the incoming date stamp applied by Création Baumann. There will be no deadline extensions.
An indispensable prerequisite for entering the «GECKO: Think Forward» competition is the express acceptance of the terms and conditions confirmed on the registration form.
Please note that documentation for «GECKO: Think Forward» must be sent free of charge and at the entrants’ own risk to Création Baumann. Documentation submitted without prior registration and indication of the registration code will not be considered. To ensure the anonymity of the competition entries, the entry sheets and explanatory report must not provide any references to the author beside the registration code.
