Yarışma BilgileriThe Green Dot Awards opens its first call for entries to businesses and organizations worldwide. The Green Dot Awards are administered by a small team in Los Angeles and rely on its panel of experts, who serve as members the jury. Jury members include top international activists, progressive business founders, and pioneers of the eco-sustainability movement.

The Green Dot Awards strive to reward and promote forward-thinking businesses that create environmentally friendly products or services, and to recognize revolutionary business plans and proposals.

GDA aims to bridge the gap between truly innovative businesses that practice excellence in environmental responsibility and international consumers and media. Winners receive international publicity, cash prizes, and their full submissions published in the annual book, made of 100% recyclable materials and distributed to booksellers throughout the world.

GDA's submissions are judged by a board of experts in the field, writers, editors, consumers and other luminaries. Winners receive international publicity and their full submissions published in the annual book, distributed to bookstores and media throughout the world, assuring maximum exposure. In addition, the Concept Category winner receives a cash prize of 10.000 Dollars.

Categories
Transportation:
Eco-forward thinking relating to "getting there".
Design + Build: Revolutionary showcases of sustainable and functional living / working design.
Products: Everyday items, household products, or consumable goods that promote energy-conscious living.
Services: A system to supply an accommodation of any sort requested by the public. This category can include anything from sustainable restaurants, biodiesel gas stations, green retailers and more.
Entertainment + Culture: Films, festivals, television programs, visual arts, etc. that bring awareness to the need for positive environmental change.
Other: Entries that do fit within the above categories, but also deserve to be recognized for their efforts in sustainable practices.
Concept Category: Reserved for innovators with a revolutionary business proposal or plan. In other words, Green Dot will accept entries that are not currently in effect or making revenue.

Entry Fee: The fee is 75 Dollars, it may be paid online by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) or via Paypal.

Eligibility 
The Green Dot Awards are open to all companies, organizations, and individuals whose submission falls into one of our categories.

- Steven Foster (President of The Steven Foster Group, Commercial Consultant for Eco-sustainability)

Submission
The competitors can submit as many entries as they'd like. There is no limit. Only digital submissions are accepted. The same submission can be entered into multiple categories with 25 Dollars additional fee for each category.

To enter you can use the online entry system to submit your entry. We request that you upload 1 PDF file that includes:
- Background and contact informaiton about your business, organization, or company
- Detailed explanation of the entry
- How the entry is manufactured and delivered to its consumers 
- How the entry and its function/use maintains excellence in eco-sustainability in an environmentally friendly and responsible manner.
- At least 1 photograph or rendering that represents the entry. It is optional to upload up to 5 additional JPEG images

Submission Deadline: 15 September 2008 (Until midnight, Pacific Coast Time)

Winners are notified personally and announced to the public six to eight weeks after the final submission deadline. The Annual Book will be released eight to ten months after the announcement of winners.

The organization has the right to use your submissions for for press, exhibitions, and in the Green Dot Awards book. GDA may also use your work for marketing and promotional purposes, with approval and appropriate citation / credit.
