The P/A Awards recognize unbuilt projects demonstrating overall design excellence and innovation.Eligibility
Architects and other design professionals practicing in the United States, Canada, or Mexico may enter one or more submissions. Proposals may be for any location, but work must have been directed -and substantially executed- in offices in any one of those three countries. Projects cannot have appeared previously in a nationally distributed U.S. design publication.
Real Projects Only: All entries must have been commissioned for compensation by clients with the contractual intention and the authority to carry out the submitted proposal. A project entered in a design competition is eligible only if it is a proposal the competition’s sponsor intends to build.
Architectural and Urban Design Entries: Architectural design entries may only include works of architecture scheduled to be completed after 01 January 2009. Urban design entries must have been accepted by a client who intends to base future development on them, please include an implementation timeline.
Categories
Commercial, Cultural, Educational, Governmental, Health-Related, Industrial, Multifamily Housing, Recreational, Religious, Single- Family Housing, Urban Design. (Mixed-use facilities should be classified by the largest function.)
Individual projects must be submitted in a single category only.
Award
P/A Award winners will be announced first at a celebration in New York City in January 2009. Winning projects will be displayed at that event. Winners will submit a summary presentation board for exhibition purposes.

Important Dates
26 September 2008: Postmark deadline for regular entries
30 September 2008: Postmark deadline for late entries (must include late fee of 50 Dollars per entry).
Judging will take place in October 2008. Winning entries will be notified in November 2008, honored at a celebration in New York in January 2009, and published in the January 2009 issue of architect.
Late Fee
A late fee of 50 Dollars applies to each entry postmarked after 26 September 2008, and up to 30 September 2008. For the entries that are submitted late but the late fee was not paid on initial registration, the entrant must return to the registration page on www .PAawards.com and follow the instructions for “Adding Late Fee to Previous Entry.” (The entry number supplied on the initial registration will be needed to pay the fee.) This fee is nonrefundable, regardless of the postmark date on the submission.
All materials submitted to the P/A Awards become the property of architect, which will not be responsible or liable for them.
