Prefabrike beton üreticilerinin uluslararası örgütü olan Bure^’au Internetional du Beton Manufacture^’ ‘nin (BIBM) 17. Uluslararası Teknik Kongresi ve Expobim Prefabrikasyon Fuarı İstanbul’da yapılacak. 

Türkiye Prefabrik Birliği dahil 15 ülkenin prefabrike beton üreticilerinin ulusal birlikleri veya federasyonlarını çatısı altında toplayan BIBM, 1954 yılında Avrupa’da beton prefabrikasyon teknolojisinin gelişmesi ve yaygınlaşması amacıyla kurulmuş bir organizasyondur. BIBM, halen Avrupa Birliği harmonizasyon ve uyum çalışmaları kapsamında beton prefabrikasyon standartları ile ilgili çalışmaları yürütmekte, çeşitli eğitim seminerleri ile 3 yılda bir yapılan uluslar arası teknik kongreleri düzenlemektedir. BIBM’ in yeni bir faaliyeti de 1996 yılından bu yana verilmeye başlanan BIBM ödülleridir. Bu ödüller her üç yılda bir BIBM üyesi ülkelerde beton prefabrikasyon teknolojisi ile yapılmış projelerin arasından seçilmekte ve uluslararası teknik kongre sırasında sahiplerine verilmektedir. 

BIBM’ in 1999 yılında yapılan Genel Kurul toplantısında Türkiye Prefabrik Birliği başkanı Gür COŞKUN’ un 1999 – 2002 dönemi için BIBM başkanlığına seçilmesi dolayısı ile 2002 yılında yapılacak olan 17. Uluslararası  BIBM Teknik Kongresi’nin ev sahipliğini Türkiye Prefabrik Birliği üstlenmiştir. 

Kongrenin organizasyonu ile ilgili hazırlık çalışmaları başlamıştır. Bütün dünyadan yaklaşık 1000’e yakın prefabrike beton üreticisinin katılması beklenen kongre ve kongre dolayısı ile düzenlenecek Expobim Fuarı, 1-4 Mayıs 2002 tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da Lütfi Kırdar Kongre Merkezi’nde yapılacaktır. Kongre ve Fuarın organizasyon ve düzenleme hizmetleri Yapı - Endüstri Merkezi ve İkon Turizm ve Ticaret A.Ş’ nin oluşturduğu konsorsiyum tarafından gerçekleştirilecektir. 

Gerek kongre, gerekse Expobim Fuarının, uluslararası alanda başarısını kanıtlamış olan Türk yapı sektörünün uluslararası bağlarını güçlendirmesine büyük katkısı olacaktır.
