- keywords
Interventionism; multiculturalism; symbiosis; tension; transgressing social borders;

- site
Besiktas area, bazaar part; three groups working on three different subjects in the same site. Besiktas is a cosmopolite area in residential and user meaning, a junction point of transportation; have poorly designed parts; a transformation area and has a fast movement in housing and user structure can be easily accessible, it has historical value and has an importance in today’s Istanbul as well.

In the Malmö phase, similar topographies will be chosen.

- subjects
Reading daily life experience; solving practical design problems in outdoors; working on visual codes of the site.

- expected outcome
The expected outcome for this workshop is to get the experience of using new methods and including multicultural aspects within the field of urban planning. In parallel we expect to improve the collaboration between Malmö University and Istanbul Technical University through the establishment of a series of academic exchanges based in the chance that this framework is giving to us for getting to know each other's academic realities.

When talking about the dissemination of our project, we expect to produce a publication, in the form of a booklet that will show the process and outcome of the workshop. We aim to put special emphasis in documenting the form of the fieldwork, in an attempt of influencing the existing way of studying everyday processes in the cities.

On the other hand, all the results will take form in an exhibition that will at least be shown at both academic centers organizing the event.
