In order to meet the new era of information transmission, KYE Genius
Corporation is conducting “e” TOUCH mouse concept design competition. Any
mouse concept design that meets the e trend, such as easy, emotion,
enchantment, email, ext., are encouraged to enter this competition. This
competition provides great prizes.

2.Explanation:

In order to meet the new era of information transmission, KYE Genius
Corporation is conducting “e” TOUCH mouse concept design competition. Any
mouse concept design that meets the e trend, such as easy, emotion,
enchantment, email, ext., are encouraged to enter this competition. This
competition provides great prizes.

4.Prizes:

1st Prize / US$3500 + Certificate of Merit (Chinese vs. English) 1 person
2nd Prize / US$1500 + Certificate of Merit (Chinese vs. English) 1 person
3rd Prize / US$ 700 + Certificate of Merit (Chinese vs. English) 1 person
Prize for Excellent Model / US$ 200 (to reward exquisite model) 2 persons
Prize for being Selected / US$ 100 30 persons

(Evaluation and assessment process will be taped on video. However, if no
design meets the qualifications required for the prize, such prize will not
be won.)

5.Qualification of Competitor:

Any person can enter this competition. Serial work of one design concept
will be considered as one work. There is not limit to number of enrollments.

6.Enrollment :

Enrollment commences immediately and closes on 1, February 2002. All
competitors must complete enrollment by upload personal information in the
Competition Enrollment Zone in www.geniusnet.com.tw of KYE; or enroll by
mail so that the company can count the number for participating prize.
(After the enrollment procedure is completed, computer will automatically
show a “Computer Confirmation Serial Number Slip”. This should be printed
out by competitors and kept as proof of enrollment.)

7.Submission of Work:

(1)1st Stage:
a.Exquisite drawings - exquisite drawings which can express the design
concept.
b.Explanation on special feature of the design. These should be integrated
into the drawings.
c.Brief three-dimensional drawings.
d.Personal information.

These should make into JPG files: 1024 x 768, 300dpi, no limit number of
pages, and send to Competition Work Submission Zone in www.geniusnet.com.tw
. (After work submission procedure is completed, computer will automatically
show a “Computer Confirmation Serial Number Slip”. This should be printed
out by competitors and kept as proof of entrance to the competition.)

Closing Date: Entry closes on 01/03/2002

Evaluation and Assessment of Work:

a.Qualified competitors approved by this company will receive a MOUSE
produced by the company as a reward, total 500 persons.

b.Prize for being selected: 30 persons will be selected at this stage to
receive US$100 as allowance in making models for the final.

(2) 2nd Stage:

Competitors who have being selected will produce exquisite model of 1:1
ratio and mail to: No. 492, Sec. 5, Chung-Hsin Rd, Sanchung City, 24518,
Taipei County, Taiwan, for evaluation and assessment. The first three prizes
will be selected. (See Page 12 for details)

Evaluation and Assessment of Work: First three prizes will be selected the

8.Judge Committee:

KYE will recommend 2-3 persons with product planning, design, research and
development, marketing backgrounds; World Trade Development Association will
recommend 3 design specialists, a total of 5-6 representatives will form the
judge committee.

·Note: There will be different judge committees for initial, semi-final and
grand final.

9.Method of Evaluation and Assessment :

(1) Assessment of Qualification for Participating Prize: The conducting unit
will assess all competitors’ work. 500 competitors whose work conforms to
the competition subject and drawing requirements will be selected for
initial competition. Prize for entering will also be given.

(2) Method of Evaluation and Assessment :

a.Initial Selection

·Judge committee will proceed with evaluation and assessment on design
drawings submitted by competitors. 30 pieces of work will be selected where
each will receive a prize of US$100.

* Note: Actual number of work selected will be adjusted according to the
standard of works.

b.Semi, Grand Finals

·For semi and grand finals, judge committee will proceed with evaluation and
assessment on the exterior of exquisite model and design drawing of the 30
pieces of work which passed the initial selection. One each for 1st, 2nd and
3rd prize will be selected.

* Note: Actual number of work selected will be adjusted according to the
standard of works.

(3) Assessment Standards:

Creativity and explanation 35%
Design 35%
Function 15%
Bulk production feasibility 15%

10.Notification of Prizes:

Prizewinner will be announced on this company’s web page and relevant design
data web page on 01/06/2002.

11.Time and Place for Award of Prizes:

04/06/2002, at Taipei Computer Exhibition Square, World Trade Center.
