A presentation of the world's best graduation projects in
architecture, urban design and landscape
architecture. In 2001 Archiprix is staging a unique
presentation of the world's best graduation projects in the fields
of architecture, urban design and landscape
architecture. Archiprix International will
take place in the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam. From June
9 to July 29 there will be a general exhibition of the nominated
projects, and on July 3 an international jury will
review the projects and award the prize. The
award ceremony will be accompanied by a conference on
trends and views in design education and professional practice.
The designers of the best graduation projects can
also participate in an international design
workshop to be held in the Van Nelle Factory. Archiprix
International is an event within the framework of Rotterdam's
tenure as Cultural Capital of Europe in 2001.
Archiprix International, Archiprix
Nederland, Prix de Rome (architecture, urban design and landscape
architecture) and Europan the Netherlands will join forces in
presenting their exhibitions and parallel events
under the title of Coming Soon!.
Invitation
Archiprix International invites universities and colleges
teaching architecture, urban planning and
landscape architecture around the world to
select their best graduation project completed after January 1,
2000. Institutions can now register their
participation on the web site www.archiprix.org.
This web site contains the world's largest database of names
and addresses of universities and colleges teaching architecture,
urban planning and landscape architecture, and from
March the site will contain a growing web
presentation of all submitted projects. The
procedure for participation in Archiprix International 2001 is as
follows:
1. The university or college selects the best
graduation project completed after January,
2000.
2. The university or college checks if it is
listed in our database and adds or amends
its details as appropriate.
3. Between January 15 and April 15, 2001, the designer of the
selected project fills in the submission
form on the web site and sends us a digital
version of the project, consisting of: - project statement; - 6
JPEG images (max.450 pixels); - captions (max. 200
words).
The designer sends his project by post to: Archiprix
International, PO Box 25276, 3001 KG
Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The submission should consist of: - 6 panels (A2 size); - 10
slides (35mm); project statement of max. 500
words; - model, video, or computer presentation
is optional.
The submission should arrive between April 15 and May 15, 2001
