The Foundation invites experienced international Architectural firms to
express their interest to undertake the design of a Multi-Cultural Center in
Athens to be constructed on an approx. 3,000 m² plot of land located at Syngrou
Avenue 109, Athens, Greece. This building is intended to be a landmark.

Syngrou Avenue connects the historical centre of Athens with Piraeus and the
suburbs of Athens. The plot is rectangular surrounded by an Avenue and three
streets. The building is subject to zoning regulations. Under normal zoning
regulations, the total area of the building will be about 9,000 m².
The Cultural Center will include one major theatre of approx. 1,200 seats and
possibly one or more smaller theatre scenes, which should be able to host
theatrical, dancing, musical and other cultural events. It will also include a
number of venues for art exhibitions, as well as a library, a restaurant etc.
Therefore, the versatility and adaptability of the design will be of importance.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be around US $35 million.
Architectural firms with a significant experience in similar projects are
invited to submit relevant information as mentioned below by March 15, 2001 in
English, to the following address:

The Foundation will invite a limited number of candidates for interview and
select one for the design, subject to contract under terms and conditions to be
agreed.
The Expression of Interest should be submitted in two (2) copies and should
contain the following information:
1. Curriculum Vitae of the personnel that will be directly responsible
for the design.
2. Tables showing similar major buildings designed by the
architectural firm during the last five (5) years, including designs under
development.
The tables must mention the title of the projects, the name of clients, the
location, the total area of the building, the budget of the project, the
percentage of the participation of the firm in the design, the date of the award
as well as the completion date.
3. Photographs and/or publications relating to projects undertaken
mentioned in the tables of item 2.
4. Curriculum Vitae of special advisors (i.e. theatre, acoustic, the
lighting, art exhibitions etc.) involved in the projects mentioned in the tables
of item 2 above, with reference to their scope of work.
5. Further information regarding total personnel of the firm,
technological means and equipment, organisational structure and any other
information considered useful to show the experience of the firm and its ability
to realise the project.
