Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
Theme: compatibility

For instance, the relationship between "design" and "art", the one
between "architecture" and "furniture", the concept of that two
substances are considered completely different / opposite is actually
not true once you think about it; those two are actually really similar
/ close. In addition, it seems to be that we are getting closer with
people due to high technology and social changes.
Moreover, by seeing those contrastive substances equally, you'd be able
to see things you've never seen before.
For the competition, we're looking for designed furniture, interior,
product based on the free perspective or free ideas.

Qualification Requirements
Experiences are not required. Any other restrictions exist. In addition,
plural number of works can be submitted.

Online Application
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the
corresponding fields of Entry Sheet. We'll e-mail you your entry number
to your e-mail address you filled out. Since you'll be using the entry
number for upcoming procedures (submitting works, contacting us), please
make a note of your own entry number. Entry number will be given per
work, please complete the form as the same time as your submitting works.

Submitting Format
[1] Written concept of your work.
Summarize in 100 words (English) / 200 letters (Japanese) including the
space / situation you supposed for your work.

[2] Image of your work itself
180 pixel*180 pixel (JPEG file format, within 30kb)
It could be rendered image, drawings, illustration, and any other
presentation you wish.

[3] Image of your work placed in voluntary space. (1 image)
640 pixel*480 pixel (JPEG file format, within 100kb)
It could be rendered image, drawings, illustration, and any other
presentation you wish.

Submitting Method
Submitting registration will be conducted online through an exclusive
web site. The image of your work has to be attached and mailed to the
exclusive address. The e-mail address you're sending your image to will
be announced by e-mail. (If you have any problems on this online
submission, please let us know.)

Judging Procedures
First preliminary judging
(scheduled to be around the beginning of August.) Your work will be
evaluated based on your Submitting Format. IDEE DESIGN COMMITTEE will
choose 10 works for "IDEE AWARD". Cooperated companies will choose works
for their own award. All submitted works will be presented to the public
on web site of IDEE DESIGN COMPETITION 2001.

Final Judging
Those 10 works from the first preliminary judging will be
trial-manufactured, and those will be evaluated. IDEE CO., LTD will
cover expenses for trial production.
All works will be presented at IDEE SHOP during Tokyo Designers Block.
IDEE AWARD goes to the work with the most votes by Tokyo Designers Block
staff, IDEE SELECTION COMMITTEE, and customers visiting to IDEE SHOP
during the period.

Regarding awards by co-supported companies, you could also know though
its web site, and we would inform all of entrants by e-mail.

IDEE Award Announcement of Result
Winners from the first preliminary judging are scheduled to announce on
the web site on the 31st of August. And IDEE will contact directly final
entrants passed the first judging.

Final Winner, IDEE AWARD will be scheduled to announce on web site of
"IDEE DESIGN COMPETITION 2001" on the 19th of October 2001.

Prizes
Prize 1,000,000 yen
Production of awarded work for retail purposes with royalty contract
with IDEE Co., Ltd.
 A round-trip airfare to Tokyo (for the one who live in foreign
country) or the transportation expenses in order to arrangements about production.
Transportation fee to exhibition held within / outside country.
Others
Co-sponsored companies offer each award. As soon as we receive
information from them, we'll notify all entrants by e-mail.

cuusoo seikatsu produces your work
For those works with a lot of votes but didn't get awarded, there will
be a chance for those works to be produced by Elephant Design Co., Ltd.
featuring on their web site, "cuusoo seikatsu". For more information,

Rights Privileges
Acceptance of a prize offered constitutes permission to post the
winners' names and submitted designs for promotional purposes without
further compensation as permitted by law.

Production
The work offered IDEE AWARD will be produced for retail purposes with
royalty contract with IDEE CO., LTD.
