The competition is based on and governed by the International Union of Architects (UIA) Guide for International Competitions in Architecture and Town Planning and UNESCO Regulations and Terms of Application.

The competition will be an IDEAS competition. The aim will be to present ideas to elucidate certain aspects of the town planning problem presented.

The Competition will be a TWO STAGE Competition
First Stage: will be a general approach and therefore, will consist of overall plans with a number of perspective sketches sufficient to demonstrate the intentions of the competitor.

Second Stage: will involve more detailed designs and may be limited to part only of the subject matter dealt with in the first stage.

The regulations and conditions for the competition shall be identical for all competitors.

All competitors’ designs shall be submitted and judged anonymously.

Article 2: ELIGIBILITY
The competition will be an OPEN competition that is: open to professionals from all countries without restriction of any kind.

Graduate students of Architecture, Urban Design and Town Planning are also eligible to enter the competition, i.e., persons who are continuing their studies having already completed a Bachelor Degree.

Article 4: JURY AND DEPUTY JURY
The competition jury will consist of seven (7) members and two (2) deputy / alternate members. The jury will be the same for both stages. The role of the deputy members is to replace a titular member if this becomes necessary, and as such the deputy members will be present at all sessions. The jurors will be as follows:

Article 5 : REGISTRATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINE

The competition conditions shall be published through the information network of the International Union of Architects (UIA) to their worldwide member institutions and by the NHT through its local advertising campaign.

Registration will comprise the completion and submission of the Application Form attached. This must include: full personal particulars and name of the team leader in the case of a team entry; proof of the individual or team leader=s right to practice the profession in his/her country of residence and their contact address.

All applicants must submit an e-mail address with the application form, this must remain valid for the duration of the competition. This is mandatory as this will be one of the main methods of communication from the promoter to the competitor throughout the competition.

The Registration fee will be in the amount of US $100.00. This fee is non-refundable and is to be lodged to National Housing Trust via :

All entries must be sent by International Courier service and must be received by the promoters by the deadline date. Packages received after the deadline date will not be accepted, regardless of their postmark date and will be returned to the competitor unopened.
