MFI, the UK's leading retailer and manufacturer of kitchens and bedrooms,
have launched a second competition in collaboration with the RIBA
Competitions Office and RIBA Journal.

The theme for this competition is Room to Grow - A Child's Space in the
21st Century Home and seeks to explore the evolution of a child's room over
the years and through each stage of childhood. In line with society's
preoccupation with child psychology and emotional well-being the
Competition aims to stimulate discussion as to how design may address the
requirement's of a child's personal environment.

Entries must be based on an area of 15-20m/sq with a ceiling height not
exceeding 2.7 metres, to remain within the context of typical current
housing. Competitors will be requested to submit their design proposals on
a maximum of two A1 lightwegith foam boards.

Whilst the competition is a call for ideas only, MFI may build the winning
designs as part of its exhibition activity and/or may build the winning
design to display in stores around the country.

Eligibility: The competition is open internationally to registered
