Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
As the dietary fare diversifies, the simple satisfaction of "fast
food" has recently been losing its appeal in favor of "slow
food". There is also a rising trend towards health food. If one considers
the function of food to be for both the sustenance of life and a means to the
enjoyment of living, the significance of eating may be recaptured. When
designing for the culture of dining, there is a welcome return to the role of
nutrition in preserving good health.
Conceived from this viewpoint, the "restaurant in ruralscape" will
receive attention for its rural landscape, useing only the freshest of
ingredients, and as a place where visitors may even spiritually enjoy an
abundance of cuisine culture.
It is assumed that this restaurant will be produced by an owner/chef who is
interested in the spiritual enjoyment of food culture. Therefore, this owner's
lifestyle will deeply affect the restaurant's concept. Or perhaps it could be an
autonomous plan for the revitalization of a certain rural area. In any case, it
should be designed with an assumption of its use.
The restaurant's intended environment is a "field", but this may be a
wheat or vegetable field, a fruit orchard, even an olive grove or a rice paddy.
In any case, the relationship with its particular surroundings must be firmly
grasped. More important than issues of how to position the building within the
scenery or how to establish scenic view for diner, the restaurant must lend
itself to an ecological relationship with its environment. It is hoped that the
"restaurant in ruralscape" will cultivate the way for the cuisine
culture of tomorrow.
