Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
Through this Competition, the organizer hopes to gather ideas and knowledge from all over the world to outline the construction of a "21st century-style new city" that will open-heartedly serve the world as the origin of knowledge emergence and propagation. At the same time, it is important to provide a high-quality and comfortable housing environment to the residents. This area is highly expected to become the multi-functional core zone of the Tono Frontier Science Research City, which includes infrastructure to promote exchange among residents and workers, systems to support private enterprises, as well as facilities to accommodate the emergence and propagation of knowledge and nurturing of new technology, and those for relaxation, etc., as the crossroads of knowledge and technology (Crossover Center).

Part of the area covered by the Proposal Competition has been earmarked for commercial use for the next twenty years. For this area in particular, the organizer would like the applicant to propose land use idea after those twenty years have passed. This will be the core zone that will assume a pioneering role, and therefore, the proposal is expected to include urban functions and systems that will promote the construction of private-sector research institutions. Also, the proposed facilities/buildings need not be for permanent use. Ideas regarding temporary (or period-limited) use of the facilities are welcome.
