CLEAN (Cooperativa Libraria Editrice Architettura Napoli) announce the European Architecture Award Luigi Cosenza 2002 in order to select and let know young architects' projects standing out for their rigorous ideas and techniques applied to a research in modern architecture.

This Award is for architects and engineers born or gradueted in Europe (Ue countries or not), solo or in groups, not older than 40 at 31.12. 2002. Every candidate or group can partecipate with one or two (for different team-leader) realized projects.

CLEAN (Cooperativa Libraria Editrice Architettura Napoli) announce the European Architecture Award Luigi Cosenza 2002 in order to select and let know young architects' projects standing out for their rigorous ideas and techniques applied to a research in modern architecture.

Art. 1 - Kind of competition and purposes
This biennal Award is for the "best built project" in the last 5 years and completeted at 31.12.2002. Therefore the work must have been completeted between 1998 and 2002. This Award wants to promote the works of the new generation by descovering new talents and good architecture.

Art. 2 - Conditions to partecipate
This Award is for architects and engineers born or gradueted in Europe (Ue countries or not), solo or in groups, not older than 40 at 31.12. 2002. Every candidate or group can partecipate with one or two (for different team-leader) realized projects.

Art. 3 - Prizes
1 Winner 7.000 EURO
5 Special mentions 1.000 EURO
The Jury will give plates for other selected projects.

Art. 4 - Publication of the Announcement and diffusion
The Announcement will be available at Professional Orders Seats, Cultural Institutes, Universities and specializeted press of the above-mentionated European countries, and sent on request. Art. 5 - Application and documents
Every candidate or group must send the following documents by 31.01.2003:
1) application containing biographical data, address, telephone number, telefax, e-mail, and the autorization to the use of these data according to the law 675/96 (Privacy); 

2) short file about studies and practice and personal photo; 

3) short file containing the data of built project (chronology, his clients, authors and collaborators) and a short report (not more than 300 words); 

4) at least 15 photos of built project, of a perfect quality for the printing of the catalogue, and at least 5 reproductions (photos, photocopies, plotted drawings) of plans, sections, views, sketches, plastic models, axonometry; 

5) a contribution for the organization expenses of 130 EURO for every project, to be paid as follows: - fund transfer on Banco di Napoli ag. 11 via dei Mille, Napoli, Italy c/c 2710570 ABI 1010 CAB 03411; - bank cheque; In favour of CLEAN a r.l.
(causal: Premio Europeo di Architettura Luigi Cosenza 2002).

6) all the requested documents must be contained in an album or booklet whose size must be about 25x33 cm., and sent to: CLEAN, via Diodato Lioy 19, 80134 Napoli, Italy, by 31.01.2003. For mail or private courier forewards will be taken into account the postmark.

Art. 6 - Results
The Jury's unappelable judgement by majority will decide the winner and the mentions by 30.06.2003. The results will be comunicated to every candidate and to the specializated press.

Art. 7 - Exhibition and Awarding of Prizes
Winning and mentioned projects will be shown in the exhibition and awarding (prizes personally taken), in the presence of the Jury and Autorities. Instructions will be given about the materials to send to the exhibition.

Art. 8 - Catalogue
All the competing projects will be published in a catalogue published by CLEAN, and every candidate will receive a free copy (one free copy for each competing project).

Art. 9 - Acceptance of Announcement and changes
All candidates must unconditionally accept this Announcement in every part. The Direction can make all the necessary changes in order to improve the achievement of the Award and may request additional data and material.
