Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
Dublin City Council is currently developing and implementing
an ambitious new plan for the area known as the 'North Fringe'. The central
objective is to develop an urban character set within a coherent spatial
framework and facilitating sustainable densities linked to public transport. The
area will contain in excess of 7000 new housing units and 93,000.00 Square
meters of mixed use. An opportunity now exists to complement and consolidate the
urban framework planning of the North Fringe Action by the provision of a
flagship contemporary urban park which will be at the heart of this new urban
quarter of the City. The redesign of the existing Father Collins Park, with an
area of 35 hectares, presents such an opportunity. The central location of the
park on the proposed main boulevard, defines it as an important community focus
and a critical element of the public realm. The proposed design treatment will,
therefore, be critical to defining the character, sense of place and identity of
the North Fringe area.
