Yarışma Özeti(Summary):
This is the third design contest hosted by Design-engine.com. The first, held in
the Fall of 2001, also focused on photoreal chair designs and attracted
participants from around the world. The 2002 Photoreal competition (Last years
competition) followed the same guidelines, but focused on hand-held wireless
products. As with all of our competitions, judges may decide to have two or more
winners depending upon the awards available from our sponsors. Members from
participating sponsors, jurors, companies and Application Engineers from
software vendors are all eligible to win. So your entry better be good.

We've assembled a beauty this time. Industry leaders in the furniture design
field have decided to lend their expertise in critiquing this competition's
entries. What better reason to enter your vision of the future.
Grab the most current press release: PRESS RELASE. You could help by emailing
this to your competitors to see if they are truly up to the test. You might also
send our press release to past instructors, High School Guidance councilors,
University Instructors, Drafting Teachers, friends, enemies, and or comrades. We
also have gobs of postcards that promote this event. Call and we will send you
some. Posters too! Download the POSTER HERE.
What's eligible?
Any original photoreal seating product, that is typically but not limited to
products that a person could interface their body in a seated or lounging
position. Products created using any design software i.e. Vellum, Alias Studio,
MAYA, Autodesk Inventor, 3d Max, Rhino 3d, Solid Works, Solid Designer, 3d,
Unigraphics, ICEM, or Pro/ENGINEER to name a few. This year's competition seeks
computer-generated renderings of seating products: outdoor seating, stackable
furniture, sofa, lounge, bar stools and hot tubs. (Hot tubs would be accepted
because you lounge in a seated position). Ok, we would like to see some entries
from Photoshop and Illustrator too. Just make them look 3d.

Criteria?
This Photoreal design competition will look both at photo realism and innovation
in design for modern culture equally. You know we love those slick renderings
but it is really about innovation and communication too.
