For the first component, SOM was the design architect
for a base building modification for the Trading operations of the Bank. The
design consists of a dynamic roof structure to enclose a 50 foot high column
free Trading Floor as well as a 50 foot high structural glass curtain wall at
the north end. This curtain wall is supported by 50 foot high structural glass
fins. The roof structure is composed of six 25 foot bays of repeating geometric
planes, and allows for vertical glazed clerestories at the North, South, and
East sides.
The roof structure will also support two suspended
mezzanines for Traders at the 15th floor. The design of the current Trading
Floor above is part of the Interior fit-out component of SOM s work. The
interior fit-out will be for 3 floors of approxi mately 65,000 sf. each. It will
include a full data center operation to support the Trading and adminis trative
operations, offices, conference rooms, Trading areas, and support functions. The
project is scheduled for completion in 2001.
